Hydro-energy is being used since two thousand years ago. Nowadays we use it mostly for electric energy generation, which covers about 20% of worlds electricity production. Hydro-energy is one of the most sustainable and environment friendly ways of generating electric energy.

Hydromechanical equipment is a part of hydroelectric system for electricity generation. Water turbine works as the main drive in a hydropower plant. It transforms water energy in to mechanical energy, which is later converted in to electricity, with the help of electric generator. Turbine and generator form a 'turbo-generator'. In theory, we know three types of turbines: Kaplan, Pelton and Francis turbine.
